David Eldredge |
Coach David Eldredge started playing polo at the age of 9 and was competing in his first game by 10. He now has an impressive record as both a player and coach and fifty years of experience playing and coaching both in Arena and Outdoor Polo. He is recognized as an Honorary Certified Polo Instructor by the USPA. He competed in intercollegiate polo for Cornell University, starting for all four years and as captain for three. Not wanting to leave polo glory behind, David stayed to serve as the assistant coach at Cornell from 1981-85 and then served 33 years as the Peter B. Orthwein ‘68 Head Coach. During his tenure at Cornell, David led the Cornell men’s and women’s polo to a combined 14 national titles and 37 national championship appearances and 47 USPA Northeast regional titles and became the all-time winning-est coach in Cornell history for any sport finishing with a combined 988-333-25 record (.743). While building hundreds of young Cornellian polo players into polo greatness, David also held his own during his professional polo career; playing on 4 Arena Open Championship Squads, representing the USA 3 times in the J&B Pro Polo Arena International, and achieving a career high handicap of 7 goals Arena and 4 goals Outdoor. As his career progresses into it's mature years, he maintains a handicap of 4 goals Arena and 2 goals Outdoor. He also enjoys giving back to the polo community by serving the USPA on the both the Arena and Outdoor Rules committees. David is excited to take his career to the next level with TEAM RESOLUTE.
